A guide to
CAMPOFELICE
Offering quick and easy access to Cefalù’s without the Cefalù price tag, it’s no wonder that this stretch of coastal countryside and beach towns is a hit with holidaymakers and investors alike.
Why It’s Good
When we talk about Campofelice we really mean this whole stretch of coast, running from the edge of Termini Imerese towards Cefalù and taking in Lascari and the beach districts along the way. Inland, the same gentle countryside of olive groves and citrus orchards rolls back towards the Madonie foothills, giving the area a rural character that’s hard to find right on the coast elsewhere in Sicily.
The town of Campofelice di Roccella itself is 10km west of Cefalù. Its name translates loosely as happy fields, after the fertile farmland of lemon and olive groves that still surrounds it. The hilltop old town has great views, but much of the action from the tourist market takes place in the surrounding countryside or down at sea level. A long stretch of sand runs along the Gulf of Termini Imerese, with quieter coves at Settefrati and the Salinelle nearby for calmer swimming. Inland, the hills of the Madonie Natural Park are a paradise for hikers, cyclists and day trippers.
The Perfect
Destination for…
Campofelice is an amazing spot for family holidays that balance coast and countryside. The area’s holiday villages come with their own pools, playgrounds and activities on hand, giving children plenty to do without ever leaving the grounds. Think of it as a lovely small-scale version of a resort, without the noise and commercialisation.
Investment Advice
The Solemar Group’s buy-to-let specialist Valerio Gruessner shares his guide to Campofelice and insights for prospective buyers in the area
“Campofelice opens up a completely different kind of opportunity to our other locations. This is where you can buy land, or an existing business, and build a proper agriturismo or holiday village rather than a single property. A campsite or a high-end ‘glamping’ site works particularly well, since the terrain gives you genuine sea views over green countryside that looks even better in person than it does in your promotional material.
“If you build something well here, the land prices mean that you can make very big returns, and if you don’t want to commit to a full-time lifestyle change we like to think Solemar is the perfect partner for you. We already manage whole complexes in the area, like the Casette di Calzata complex, for instance. So if you’re thinking about developing something we can take all the logistics off your hands and all the worry off your mind.”

Getting There
The motorway from Falcone e Borsellino airport reaches the Campofelice junction in around an hour, and if you’re coming from Palermo itself it’s only half that time.
Campofelice, Lascari and Termini Imerese all have their own railway stations on the Palermo to Messina line, with trains roughly every hour.
If you’re staying in Campofelice, having your own vehicle is almost essential in order to get there and make the most of the area.
